About the Investigational Drug

The investigational drug is designed to be taken once daily by mouth (as opposed to currently available MS medications, which are taken by injection).

This investigational drug is currently being studied in people with MS to determine if it can:

  • Decrease the rate and severity of relapse
  • Decrease the risk that a disability caused by MS may progress
  • Reduce the inflammatory activity in the body related to MS that may be a potential cause of relapses

The investigational drug is a novel compound, and may help to decrease the rate and severity of relapse in a different way from other currently available MS medications.

Because the investigational drug is taken by mouth, it does not pose the potential for side effects related to injections.

Everyone who participates in this clinical research study will receive the following (at no cost):

  • Study drug – the investigational drug and/or a placebo (a substance designed to have no effect on health). The investigational drug is taken by mouth. Everyone who participates in this study has the same 2 in 3 chance of receiving the investigational drug.

Additionally, everyone who participates in this clinical research study will receive study-related care and monitoring from a physician and healthcare professionals who understand how multiple sclerosis can affect your life.
